Blue Bones

Blue Bones

Blue Bones is a fantastic and eclectic vintage shop. Great selection, great prices, and great people. They are currently changing locations so everything is online but keep a lookout for the first opportunity to visit in person!

Ledbury

Ledbury

Ledbury, hit twice in recent months with vandalism as well as loss of sales due to the Stay at Home order, still holds strong as a vital member of the RVA community. They are currently selling masks as well as their well-tailored men’s shirts.

Waller & Co. Jewelers

Waller & Co. Jewelers

Hit hard by the recent vandalism on Broad St., the local store has been a family-owned business for four generations. Set up with a GoFunMe page, Waller & Co are trying to continue on. Do them and yourself a favor and go check them out.

Bands and Food Trucks at Hardywood

Bands and Food Trucks at Hardywood

It becomes like a mini-reunion with friends I rarely see. On Summer nights, we grab food at whatever wonderful food trucks inhabit the parking lot, go in and listened to some amazing bands and catch up with old friends.

Roast Pork at Kuba Kuba

Roast Pork at Kuba Kuba

My favorite place to hit for breakfast is Kuba Kuba. I say “breakfast” but I always get the roasted pork no matter the time of day. But if I’m there during breakfast time, I always order their cafe con leche to get my day started.

Fire Pit at Stone Brewing

Fire Pit at Stone Brewing

A trip to Stone is wonderful but sitting out at the fire pit makes it tops! I can’t wait to go back to their tasty brews and the beautiful atmosphere.

Folks Watching Monument Ave 10k

Folks Watching Monument Ave 10k

One of the best parts of the 10k for sure is the people who participate in simply viewing the race. Setting up coffee or donuts in the median for runners who may need a pick-me-up, holding signs of support, or even dressing up to give the runners a good laugh!

Church Hill Ghost Tour

Church Hill Ghost Tour

Halloween is so much more fun when you can hear some fantastic ghost stories about your own city. The Church Hill Chillers Ghost Tour takes you all around the beautiful historic neighborhood retelling spooky stories and actual historical events that took place in RVA.

Hollywood Cemetery

Hollywood Cemetery

Hollywood Cemetery a beautiful historic cemetery. You do not need to be visiting a loved one there to find peace and tranquility in its beauty. The view of the James River is spectacular. Whether it’s for a tour, a picnic, or just a walk through the area, it is absolutely worth an afternoon of your time.

Blue Bee Cider

Blue Bee Cider

The cider is fantastic but the atmosphere is absolutely lovely! Their staff is very friendly and knowledgable. I recommend doing a flight so you can taste all of their delicious ciders!

Shopping In Carytown

Shopping In Carytown

It’s always such a pleasure to go shopping in Carytown (even if it’s just window shopping). So many uniques shops for clothing, gifts, and treats.

Maymont

Maymont

I know their beautiful outdoor spaces are currently open but I cannot wait to feed the farm animals and check out the otters at the Robins Nature Center.

Drinks and Friends at Fuzzy Cactus

Drinks and Friends at Fuzzy Cactus

Fuzzy has the best atmosphere and the most unique cocktails for a fun night with friends. I can’t wait to see more of their fantastic shows and eat a tofu biscuit!

Nomad Studio Hair Salon

Nomad Studio Hair Salon

I know we are all suffering from horrible regrowth and unmanageable bangs. I cannot wait to get back to Sara Pecora at Nomad Studio and have her do some magic on my hair!

Classified Moto

Classified Moto

Wanna spend your social distancing on a one of a kind motorcycle? Hit up John Ryland at Classified Moto (you know, the one that built the Walking Dead bike). His motorcycles are a work of Art!

Superskee at Slingshot

Superskee at Slingshot

Skee ball is the only arcade game I ever really liked as a a kid. Now I can play Superskee at Slingshot and I feel like a kid again…who drinks beer from one of their many taps.

Mini-Golf at Hotel Greene

Mini-Golf at Hotel Greene

Mini-Golf at the very Wes Anderson-like Hotel Greene is so much fun. My friend and I share some fun cocktails before (and sometimes during) our game. The atmosphere is so quirky and cool. It’ll be one of my first visits when social distancing is over!

Richmond Metro Zoo

Richmond Metro Zoo

The Richmond Metro Zoo has grown by leaps and bounds over the last few years. My favorite thing to do is throw the veggie pellets over to the orangutan who will indicate with his hand when he wants you to throw more.

CKO Kickboxing

CKO Kickboxing

Social distancing is making me soooo fat! I cannot wait to get back to me regular kickboxing classes at CKO for fitness and stress relief. The trainers are amazing and every workout allows you to work at your own level.

The Mill on MacArthur

The Mill on MacArthur

Burger night. Pasta night. Brunch. I’ll take ‘em all. With a side of mac n cheese. I miss everything about this place. The staff, the friendly vibe, the bacon bloody marys…everything!
